Kempegowda College of Physiotherapy is one of highly regarded colleges in Bangalore, Karnataka. When the college was started first in 19997, it had permission to start with just 25 students for BPT. Now the college offers quality education in BPT and MPT and allocates 40 seats and 10 seats for the courses respectively. The college offers excellent facilities in terms of education, library, infrastructure, classroom, and other facilities including hostel and canteen. The college also has a health care facility to deliver physiotherapy care.

With changes in demand for non-invasive methods of health care services worldwide, the importance for Physical Rehabilitation of the disabled increased. This is how physiotherapy emerged as one of the most crucial fields in medical to study and deliver services to patients. Vokkaligara Sangha also felt that more people in India should be trained to ensure quality health services for poor in this field. This is when they made a move and received permission from the Government of Karnataka to start a degree program in Physical Therapy. It happed in 1997 with permission for 25 seats at the Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences which is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. It has a hospital also.

Courses Eligibility
BPT 1.) The candidate must have passed 10+2, or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, English, and Biology with a minimum of 50% mark taken together in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

2.) Candidates over 17 years of age are eligible to apply.

MPT 1.) admitted into the Master in Physiotherapy course should have passed the BPT degree examination of the University of Health Sciences or an examination of any other university accepted by the authority of this university as equivalent thereto.

Note: Relaxation is given to SC/ST students in marks and age limit as per University norms.

Kempegowda Institute of Physiotherapy admission through Management quota

Kempegowda Institute of Physiotherapy conducts admission process for government seats as well as management seats. So, students can apply for management seats through management quota and get admission to the institute. In order to secure seats through management quota, students have to submit all the relevant documents proving their eligibility for the seat.
