What Is KCET?

KCET is also known as Karnataka Common Entrance Test. Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) conducts this entrance exam every year under the aegis of Karnataka University. Karnataka CET Exam is a state-level entrance exam organized for providing admissions in Engineering, Pharmacy, Pharma D and other courses offered by colleges and institutions located in the state. Hence, the various full-time undergraduate courses that students will get admissions through this KEA CET Exam are B.E./ B.Tech, B. Arch, BSc., B.Pharma, etc. The above courses are offered by both Government assisted and private educational institutions of the Karnataka state and complete details available in kea.kar.nic.in MBBS, BDS and AYUSH courses admissions will be done through NEET Score and for B.Arch courses NATA Score will be accepted.

KEA CET Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc & A.H.):

  • Passed in 2nd PUC/12th standard and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English subjects (40% for SC/ST/Cat-1, 2A, 3A and 3B category candidates)

KEA CET B-Pharma:

  • Passed in 2nd PUC/12th standard /equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and obtained a minimum of 45% of marks in aggregate in PCM/PCB (40% for SC/ST/CAT-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates); or
  • Passed in Diploma in Pharmacy Examination from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India Section 12 of the Pharmacy Act and has secured minimum of 45 marks. (40% for SC/ST/CAT-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates)

KEA CET 2nd Year B.Pharma:

  • Passed in Diploma in Pharmacy Examination from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India Section 12 of the Pharmacy Act and has secured minimum of 45 marks. (40% for SC/ST/CAT-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates)

KEA CET Pharma-D:

  • Passed in 2nd PUC/12th standard /equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics; or
  • Passed in Diploma in Pharmacy Examination from an institutions approved by the Pharmacy Council of India under Section 12 of the Pharmacy Act

KEA CET Naturopathy & Yoga:

  • Passed in Q. E. With Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects and English as one of the languages of study and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects in the Q. E. is eligible for admission to Naturopathy & Yoga courses. 40% of marks in Q. E. in case of SC, ST, Category–I and OBC (2A, 2B, 3A and 3B) Category candidates

KCET 2020 Syllabus

Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) defines the KCET Syllabus for all the four subjects i.e. Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology. KCET Question Paper is based on the First and Second PUC (Pre University College) syllabi (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology) prescribed by the Department of Pre-University Education of Karnataka State. Pre University College in Karnataka is equivalent to 10+2 or H.S.C. as prevalent in most of the education boards in India. KCET 2020 will be conducted in Offline mode. In order to plan a preparation strategy for the entrance exam, candidates must be aware of KCET Exam pattern & syllabus as it will give an idea about what type of questions are asked in the exam and important topics. The exam consists of 180 objective type questions to be attempted in three-hours.

Mode of Exam: The exam is held in offline mode (pen & paper based).

KCET 2020 Kannada Language Test Details

All those candidates who are appearing for KCET Kannada language test and claims eligibility for Government seats under Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannada and their main language are Kannada, Kodava, or Tulu. The test is conducted to confirm the candidate’s ability to speak, write and read Kannada.

The minimum passing marks for Kannada language test for all Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga candidates will be 12 out of 50 marks in Kannada Language Examination.

Candidates appearing for the language test has to go to Bangalore as it is the only centre provided by the authorities.

Do carry photocopies of original documents of the parents, certificates, KCET admit card, passport size photograph, etc.

KCET Cut-off

The cutoff of KCET 2020 will consist of the ranks that a candidate has to secure for getting admission. Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) will release the cutoff after the end of each counselling round. Candidates must note that KCET 2020 cutoff will be different for each college, course, category, and round of counselling. Those aspirants who secure the specified cutoff or more will be allotted into their preferred seat. The Cutoff will be announced in the form of Opening and Closing Ranks (OR, CR).

On the basis of merit list prepared by the authority, qualified candidates will be shortlisted for KCET Counselling 2020 and Seat allotment.

KCET 2020 Results

Separate result sheets showing ISM & H, Engineering, Architecture, Farm Science, B‐Pharm and Pharm‐D ranks will be declared on May 25, 2020 (Tentative). Check KCET Results

Candidates/ parents/ lecturers can file their objections, if any, addressed to the “Executive Director, Karnataka Examinations Authority, Bangalore” on or before April 30, either in person or only through SPEED POST / email: keauthority‐ka@nic.in, with regard to any of the published answer Key, along with all supporting documents / justification.

The objections received by the KEA will be placed before an Expert Committee, whose decision will be final for determination of the right KCET answer key.

The answer key approved by the Expert Committee will be applied during evaluation for determination of merit order.

Then correct answer key and the list of candidates whose results have been withheld and the reasons for withholding the results will also be published along with the results.

KCET 2020 Seat Matrix

KCET 2020 Seat Matrix will be released in Online mode only by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA). On the basis of the performance in KCET 2020, candidates will get admission in various colleges/institutes. Through seat matrix, the number of seats available in the participating institutes will be made available to the candidates. KCET Aspirants must note that the cutoff marks of each participating institutes will be different. Authorities will release the seat matrix for the current year on its official website. The entrance examination will be conducted in Offline mode consisting of two papers- Paper 1- Biology and Mathematics, Paper 2- Physics and Chemistry.
