G Madegowda Institute of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences is an element of varied institutions running under the Bharati Education Trust (BET) established in 1962 with the aim of providing quality education in rural areas at an inexpensive cost. The goals and objectives of Bharathi Education Trust are three fold. Education in rural areas, providing safe health care facilities and providing food for the needy and therefore the deserving. The Trust has grown over the years into a number of institutions starting from the pre-primary School to Post-Graduate courses. Sri G.Madegowda is that the Founder Chairman of the Trust and his sincere, unrelenting efforts have led to the establishment of several institutions at Bharathinagara, Hanumanthanagara and Kirugavalu under auspices of B.E.T. The founder secretary of the Trust late Sri Annur S.Siddegowda was also instrumental in fixing several institutions travel by the Trust, the BET is now managed by trustees.

What is BNYS?

BNYS stands for Bachelor of Naturopathy & Yogic Sciences is 5 ½ years Medical Degree course alive for over 25 years in India. This Residential Medical Degree Course is on par with MBBS, BAMS, BUMS, BSMS and BHMS. It receives a category ‘A’ Registration being the sole legitimate Medical Degree within the field of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences.

There are about 3000 BNYS degree holders everywhere the state working in various capacities starting from Naturopathy Physicians to Research scientists within the field. The course is well structured to impart deep knowledge in basic subjects associated with Human Health and illness, with practical treatment aspects of Nature cure therapies and Yogic therapies.

More than 90% of the health problems, disease or hazards of today are psychosomatic in origin and modern medicine can only provides a palliative care and never a permanent solution. Future / permanent solutions are provided by the Naturopathy & Yoga system of drugs which is represented by the letter ‘Y’ of the AYUSH systems of medicine, the legitimate practice of which is finished by people with a BNYS degree.

Candidates for admission to BNYS must have obtained not but 55 Marks in English and 55% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together at the qualifying examination i.e. 10+2 pass from any recognized Board of education. In respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled castes, and Scheduled tribes the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in qualifying examination are 50%.
